As an intern who delivers Freshbox sandwiches all over Columbus to businesses and nonprofits alike, I’ve received my fair share of jokes about our November Turkey sandwich. “November turkey, isn’t it February?” “Did you forget to update your menu this month?” “I hope that’s not how long it’s been sitting in your Freshbox fridge.” The answers are, respectively, ‘yes,’ ‘no,’ and ‘we aren’t called Freshbox because we leave sandwiches sitting in the fridge for three months.’ I can take a joke as well as the next girl, but it pains me that my favorite sandwich isn’t taken more seriously.
As Sandwich Ambassador Kelly likes to say, “It’s called November Turkey because it’s like Thanksgiving in your mouth.” And who doesn’t want to get a taste of Thanksgiving during their 45 minute lunch break? You don’t have to worry about the post-Thanksgiving food coma either; the November Turkey is a light sandwich that won’t leave you craving a nap on your over-stuffed couch. If you order it on our new multi grain ciabatta you can even tack on some whole grains and fiber.
Anyway, it would be one thing if our November Turkey was a plain old sandwich with no relation to that month’s festival of food. But we don’t misrepresent the identity of our products; it’s got cranberry dressing too. And rosemary. My point here is that the next time you see a Freshbox lunch labeled “November Turkey” at your business meeting, crack a joke or two if you must, but then picture sitting at a dining room table at Thanksgiving, feeling thankful for delicious food and good companionship, and try it. If that isn’t enough to make you smile, just wait until you bite into the Oreo for dessert.
"The company name couldn't be more appropriate! Not only is everything ALWAYS fresh and flavorful, but the sandwiches are hearty as well. I can count on every person in the meeting to be pleased and satisfied. I only wish we had more meetings!"
"They are professional, friendly and prompt. The food is always a fresh and I know everyone will be pleased with the product. Please continue the frosted Oreo cookie. Yum yum! I love the giving back to the community part of it."
